Let’s end immigration misconceptions in Winnipeg

The graphs below show the top misconceptions Winnipeggers have related to immigration. This survey was conducted based on the article “10 Myths About Immigration” posted on the website Tolerance.org

According to the Winnipeg’s Labour and Immigration Office, only last year, Winnipeg received over 16,000 immigrants. 75% of these immigrants are in this province to work.

It’s important that Winnipeggers and Canadians understand that this large number of immigrants will benefit them, not cause more problems.

Let’s reflect what is making Winnipeggers think these things about immigrants and change their opinions.

Next post you’ll meet an international student from the University of Winnipeg. He’ll tell you his goals and plans for the future here in the city.

Let’s see the positive side.
